Pray, Give and Go!
Last week I told you about Splink, a great resource for families!
I thought I would post the Splink ideas for this week, to give you a little taste of what it is all about!

Splinks for October 4th - October 10th
1) Pray...
Make a prayer book. Collect pictures from relatives and friends and put these in a book (photo album or small scrapbook works great). As you pray at bedtime, teach your children to include a prayer for those not yet following Jesus.
Pray:
- that they would know how much God loves them
- that they would understand the truth about Jesus
- that they would invite Jesus into their life
2) Give...
Start saving change and doing extra chores to give to a missionary or organization for Christmas. One idea is to pack a shoebox for Samaritan's Purse. (The collection week is November 16-23.) All the information you need, including a video for your kids to watch is on their website, www.samaritanspurse.org.
3) Go!
Write the word missionary on a piece of paper. Ask your kids what word they see (mission). An astronaut goes on a special space mission. A mission is a job or assignment. A missionary's job is to tell people about Jesus. Jesus gave His followers a mission just before He went back to heaven. His last words were, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15).
Jesus told the people to go, but He also gave them a promise: "I am with you always, even unto the end of the world" (Matthew 28:20).

Getting Plugged In
In the coming months, many new tools for you as a parent will be available.
The first of these is a Quarterly newsletter. This newsletter will be available at the Children's Check-In desk, as well as in your LifeGroup.
The first newsletter will introduce you to Splink. Splink is an excellent tool for connecting to your family each week. Did you know that throughout the year, children spend 1% of their time at church and 51% with the families. You have an incredible opportunity to share the message with your kids-in the morning, at night, driving in the car, and eating dinner together.
Splink will give you free and easy ways to plug into your kids and get them plugged into the Lord!

Gearing up....
...for an AWESOME fall!
This summer has been busy and fun around here at FBC KIDS! We have had our Wednesday night "Summer Blast", VBS, and KidzKamp! Kamp was an incredible experience, and the kids (and counselors) can't wait to go back next year!
Summer is comin' to an end, but don't worry-we will have plenty to keep you going through the fall!
Check back THIS SUNDAY for the revealing of our fall calendar!

KidzKamp
It's been a while, but I'm back! Summer is a BUSY place around here! VBS was amazing as we saw 15 kids come to know the Lord! That is what it is all about!
Next week we head out to Kidz Kamp. 21 kids and 4 sponsors will be gone for 5 days! Please be in prayer for each of these kids, that their lives will be touched through each part of this week. Also please pray for our safety in our travel and in our activities.
I'll update next week on how Kamp went!

Boomerang Express!
With summer finally here, kids will have the chance to take a little vacation! Parents will be happy that this "short trip" to Australia is free!
Boomerang Express VBS will "transport" children 4 years old to completed 5th graders to the "Outback" of Australia. We want to invite all area children and visitors to hop on board the Boomerang Express as VBS 2009. Kids will wind their way though the land down under, traveling to Recreation Rock, the Music Opera House, Goodday Cafe, and so much more!
Children will be able to learn about the vast love of Christ, and that no matter what-it all comes back to Him!
The fun packed week aboard the Boomerang Express is June 8-12 , from 9 AM-12 Noon. Registration opens at 8:45. There will also be a Family Fun Night on Friday at 6:30 PM. Families will be treated to hot dogs, a bounce house, and water slide to celebrate the fun filled week!
Bus transportation is available by contacting the church office.

Come on out!
If you aren't already apart of TeamKids on Wednesday night, come out tomorrow night at 6:00 for an exciting night!
TeamKids is a fun, high energy ministry that encourages children to know Christ and grow in a relationship with Him. Each part of TeamKid--from Bible stories, Scripture memory, life appliation and recreation-- all connect to teach life lessons to kids!
3 year olds-Kindergarteners have a blast making the come alive in all sorts of ways!
1st-5th graders join in zany games, and learn the importance of scripture, missions and SO much more!

...Phase One of the painting project is COMPLETE! I am SO excited at how it turned out, and the kids are already loving it! I wanted to give you all a "sneak peek" at the finished rooms....come check the finished products out on Sunday morning!

Welcome to the official blog for FBC Kids, the Children's Ministry at FBC Malakoff.

Sundays9:45-LifeGroups- Children will have the opportunity to learn about the Lord through biblical teachings that are developmentally geared towards their age group
11:00-KidzPraise- All children ages 4 yrs old-3rd grade are invited to the Kids Room for KidzPraise each Sunday morning. This is an exciting time of singing, games, acitivities, and a story which will help kids experience what it means to praise the Lord! Children will be dismissed from the service to go to KidzPraise
5:00-HISkidz and Kidz Choirs- Come join us as we sing praises to the lord and learn the foundations of musical development. Children ages 3-Kindergarten are invited to HISkidz and children 1st-5th grade are invited to join Kidz Choir
